Ed-Tech Online Bootcamp Startup Simplilearn Acquires Fullstack Academy

Simplilearn Acquires Fullstack Academy: An online bootcamp for developing digital skills called Simplilearn recently revealed that it had paid all cash to acquire Fullstack Academy, a bootcamp education organization with headquarters in the United States. After acquiring Market Motive in 2015, this will be the business’ second acquisition.

In the past year, Simplilearn has had exponential growth of over 60%, and this complementing purchase will hasten Simplilearn’s progress toward becoming the greatest digital skilling company globally. The announcement of the Fullstack Academy acquisition follows the consortium led by GSV’s most recent round of fundraising.

The acquisition would increase Simplilearn’s scope and visibility in the bootcamp sector and drive revenue growth to $200mn by FY24, with 70 percent of that growth likely coming from international markets.

The premium bootcamp provider Fullstack Academy has increased the breadth of its offerings by adding additional bootcamps in Web Development, Cybersecurity, Product Management, DevOps, Data Analytics, and other fields.

Over the years, the organization has developed strong relationships with twenty universities and industrial partners, increasing its alumni base to over 7,000 across the United States. In an effort to inspire female and nonbinary students to pursue jobs in technology, it also administers the wildly popular Grace Hopper Program.

According to Krishna Kumar, founder, and CEO of Simplilearn, who shared information on the acquisition, “Bootcamps have been an immensely popular concept in the Edtech business, and there is no doubt that students are searching for the all-encompassing learning experience that bootcamps offer.

We are sure that this partnership will allow us to expedite our goals for international expansion due to Fullstack Academy’s extensive presence in the U.S. and its solid relationships with leading colleges. Finding a company whose vision aligns with ours and supports our pedagogy and beliefs is great. We are confident that we can use our strengths to complement one another and create a powerful company”.

CEO of Fullstack Academy Jerrad Tausz commented, “This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity for our organization. Our shared goal is to change lives by assisting students of all backgrounds and ability levels in acquiring the technical skills required to secure in-demand employment. We are enthusiastic about what the change of ownership will mean for all of our staff, students, partners, and alumni and are extremely confident in the future success of our company. I’m excited to use our common goal with Simplilearn to close the digital skills gap in the American market”, he continued.
