Work Automation Platform Squad Raises US$2.1 million

SquadRun, an enterprise software company which developed Work Automation Platform Squad has raised US$2.1 million from a bunch of investors including Blume Ventures, Contrarian Capital, Axilor Ventures, and others. The round also saw the participation from angel investors including Gokul Rajaram (Product Engineering Lead at Square) and Shamik Sharma (Senior Technology Advisor at Myntra). The company plans to use fresh funds to expand its sales team in US and to invest in technology and product.

SquadRun designs and runs customized workflows for large-scale business operations using a combination of machine learning and human intelligence. Squad, the platform, is a SaaS based product, which automates business processes for large enterprises. Some of the uses of this platform includes catalog enrichment and annotation, upselling and recommendations, algorithm training and optimizations, etc.

Squad counts technology oriented firms such as Uber Inc, Flipkart Group, Sephora, Teespring as its current customers. While the basis of Squad’s operations lie in machine learning and artificial intelligence, its team of independent contractors are big contributors as well. Squad claims that is has connected more than 75,000 people across India, Philippines, Malaysia, Uganda, and Kenya to work opportunities through internet-enabled smart devices. Its user base includes college students, young professionals, and ‘stay-at- home’ mothers.
