JetSetGo recorded unprecedented jump in business; revenue rose by 700% in FY17

JetSetGo, the online aircraft aggregator connecting chartered planes and customers, has recorded a 700% y-o-y jump in annual revenue during FY17 buoyed by rapid growth in the Indian aviation sector. Founded only 3 years back by Kanika Tekriwal, JetSetGo is now controlling India’s largest private jet fleet without owning a single aircraft. Operating on the lines of Uber and Airbnb, the asset light model of the startup helped it achieve its goals without unduly burdening the finances. The CEO also commented that “No other company in the country can provide a fleet choice or location-wise positioning like we do”.

The startup averages at least one plane in the sky every hour of the day having executed over 4,025 movements during FY17. It has an exclusive membership program which is by invitation or recommendation only, and a loyal set of customers to bank on for normal day to day operations. Its lean operations lead to much higher aircraft utilization figures and reduced oil costs. Tekriwal commented on the process and said that “We have achieved this through smart scheduling and pan-India fleet positioning that reduces customer empty leg costs”. She added that “This has been made possible through a systematic focus on flight operations and enhancing maintenance and safety standards for the aircraft it currently manages. As airports and Indian skies continue to get more crowded, the JetSetGo value proposition for enhanced personal mobility for travelers will all but get more evident”.
