India Space Congress 2022 Initiatives for Space Tech Startups

The India Space Congress, 2022 (ISC’22) announced a number of initiatives to showcase excellence by engaging with the “iDEX 75 Space Challenges,” which was announced by the Prime Minister during the Defence Expo, and partnering with Microsoft to extend Founders Hub benefits to the 15 shortlisted startups. This was done in an effort to foster the growing interest in deep space tech startups in India.

For up to $150,000 in free Azure credits as part of the Founders Hub initiative, 15 chosen startups may apply to Founders Hub. On October 27, 2022, at the session “Pitch Right for Skyrocketing Businesses,” five finalists from Space Tech startups will present their business plans to investors and business executives. For the startups, senior leaders of top organizations will participate in a specifically crafted mentoring relationship.

The DG of SIA-India, Anil Prakash, stated, “SIA-India welcomes these partnerships since they will provide businesses a definite shot at success as they propel their goal to the next level. With Microsoft and iDEX on board, we eagerly anticipate the start of a collaboration that will assist startups in the deep tech sector. These collaborations will seek to support, nurture, and foster innovative startups.”

Additionally, he said “Decision-makers, industry participants, and policymakers would all be present at the India Space Congress on the same stage. In addition to clearing the way for discussions, the three-day congress will give participants a learning curve.”

There will be more than 500 delegates, 180 speakers, and 35 theme sessions during the three-day India Space Congress 2022, representing 20 different countries.

As part of the platform’s mission to make “Atmanirbhar Bharat” a reality, conversations will be opened up concerning business models, regulatory issues, and potential lessons learned from other regions. Finally, interest in new entrepreneurs will be raised. Speakers from 30 different nations will engage in intensive debates about a variety of space-related topics, helping to create a modern space ecosystem in the nation.
