Ecommerce Acquisition: Flipkart Acquires Ecommerce Startup ANS Commerce

Ecommerce Acquisition: Flipkart, the e-commerce arm of the Walmart group, said that it has bought ANS Commerce to improve its online retail ecosystem in India.

Flipkart stated in a statement that ANS Commerce would continue to operate as an independent e-commerce solutions platform under its current leadership team following the purchase.

“Our relationship with ANS Commerce began last year when they participated in Flipkart’s tech startup accelerator program, Flipkart Leap, and we are delighted to welcome the team to the Flipkart group,” said Ravi Iyer, senior vice president and head of corporate development at Flipkart.

Since its inception in 2017, ANS Commerce has worked with over 100 customers in a variety of industries, including corporate, mid-market, and D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) companies.

The D2C area, which is quickly developing in the Indian market as more businesses seek to engage with their customers, is where ANS is concentrating its efforts.

“We’ve witnessed a significant shift in consumer behavior over the last several years, and as a response, companies have shifted their approach to how they connect with customers. We are thrilled to be connected with the Flipkart group as we continue to assist companies in using the power of technology to engage customers and provide more value ” the founders of ANS Commerce stated.

Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is scheduled to conclude in the second half of 2022.
